Fill in each blank with the correct word. If both words can be used, choose the one that sounds more natural in each situation:


1. The next step is to chop the garlic into very thin (parts/slices).

2. Don't forget to add the (garnish/bread). ( = small bit of food used as a decorative element)

3. Please (slice/fry) the bread in half.

4. It (takes/lasts) about 10 minutes to fry these vegetables.

5. This is too (sharp/spicy) ( = hot). We'll have to mix it with a (milder/dull) sauce.
